The 2005 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab is available in four models:
LS and LT trims in either 2WD or 4WD configuration.
All models are equipped with Chevrolet's 6.0L Vortec V-8 engine,

four-speed automatic transmission is standard. Safety features include
four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, driver and passenger airbags, and
daytime running lights. Several options are available, including the

V-8 diesel. The 6.6L Duramax turbocharged V-8 diesel engine provides
310 horsepower and 590 lb.-ft of torque. Available transmissions include
an Allison five-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual transmission.
Optional packages include the Trailering Equipment Package, a Skid Plate
Package, and a Snow Plow Prep Package. Optional interior features include
leather seating, reclining bucket seats, and a premium Bose sound system.

Optional engines include a Duramax 6.6L V-8 turbo diesel engine and a Vortec 8.1L V-8 engine. The standard 6.0L V8 produces 300-hp and 360 lb.-ft. of torque. The LS model features cruise control, remote keyless entry, and power locks, mirrors, and windows. The LT model adds an electronic transfer case (4WD models only), OnStar, an automatic transmission, dual-zone automatic climate control, and heated leather bucket seats. The 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 is available in three model trims: ST, SLT, and SRT-10. The ST and SLT are available in Regular Cab or Quad Cab, in either 2WD or 4WD configurations. The SRT-10 is only available in 2WD configuration. The optional 5.7L Hemi Magnum engine employs design innovations such as hemispherical combustion chambers and twin spark plugs per-cylinder that make it more powerful, over fifty pounds lighter, and ten percent more efficient than the outgoing unit. The SRT-10G's are equipped with an 8.3L V10 Viper engine paired to a manual six-speed transmission. The Ram 1500 is available with a variety of upgrade packages combining popular options. These include an off-road equipment group, a sport appearance group, and a trailer tow package.
The 2005 Ram 2500 remains available in Regular Cab and Quad Cab in either 2WD or 4WD configurations. The Ram 2500's are equipped with a 5.7L Hemi Magnum V8 engine with 330 horsepower at 5400 rpm and 375 lb.-ft of torque at 4400 rpm. In addition, the Cummins 5.9L Turbo Diesel is available in a High Output version that boasts 305 horsepower and a huge 555 lb.-ft of torque. An Off-Road Package is available on the SLT Quad Cab. This package includes a limited slip differential, 4.10 axle ratio, fog lights, LT265/70R17E On-Off Road tires, and Protection Package. For added safety, the Ram 2500 offers supplemental side impact airbags and a power adjustable pedal, along with a Security Group that includes an alarm system.
The 2005 Ram 3500 returns for the model year with few minor changes. The Ram 3500 is available in SL or SLT trim and as a Regular Cab or Quad Cab. The Quad Cab DRW models are equipped with a 5.7L Hemi Magnum V-8 engine with 330 horsepower at 5400 rpm and 375 lb.-ft of torque at 4400 rpm. The Cummins 5.9L Turbo Diesel HO version boasts 305 horsepower and is standard on Quad Cab models. For added safety, supplemental side curtain airbags in conjunction with next-generation front airbags are optional along with power adjustable pedals and the standard (LATCH) child seat anchorage system. An Off-Road Package is available on the SLT Quad Cab's and contains a limited slip differential, 4.10 axle ratio, fog lights, and Protection Package.
The 2005 Dakota Club Cab is available in six models: ST, SLT, and Laramie in two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive configurations. All models come equipped with a 3.7L V6 engine that produces 210 horsepower and 235 lbs/ft of torque. The Dakota's also get updated in the transmission category by offering a new six-speed manual transmission as a standard feature on the ST and SLT while the Laramie comes equipped with a four-speed automatic transmission. Dodge Dakota
For 2005, Toyota introduces the all-new Tacoma. The Tacoma is available in three cab types: regular cab, access cab, and double cab. Two new engines are now available: a 2.7L in-line four cylinder engine producing 164 hp and 183lb-ft of torque and a 4.0L V6 that generates 245 hp and 282 lb-ft of torque. Two new transmissions, a six-speed manual or a five-speed automatic, are available on the V6 models. For people who want a 2WD truck with the look and ride height of a 4WD truck can order the Pre-Runner models. New safety improvements include anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist as standard equipment on all models. The sporty X-Runner model adds a lowered suspension, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a ground effects package with hood scoop.
